Akmon and Passalos

Passalos welcomes campers into the Kerkopes Bros. Carnival
Passalos in monkey form threatens those unwelcome to The Carnival

Also known as the Kerkopes Brothers, these two are the ringleaders of The Kerkopes Brothers Carnival and are known to be scheming conmen on the side. The two brothers are almost identical except one has brown hair and the other has red. Akmon wears a red leather cap and Passalos wears a zebra print cowboy hat. Both can take the appearance of monkeys and are quite short of stature. Another way the two brothers can appear to demigods is in a form in which their faces are replaced with that of a monkey’s. This was Zeus’ punishment for the consistent thievery the siblings were guilty of. You may recognize these two con artists as the same two that bother Leo Valdez with their sticky fingers in the novel House of Hades. Not only are their hands sticky, but hot! These two cursed brothers have the ability to call fire to the palm of their hands whenever they wish.

When the Carnival was at camp, the brothers took turns sitting at the front of camp mocking all campers as they walked in every morning. But besides their heckling and their carnival, The Kerkopes Brothers are known to make deals behind the scenes that eventually cause more problems at Camp Half-Blood Austin. For example, in the summer of 2020, the two were caught stealing Annabeth Chase’s personal laptop, thought lost in Tarterus, and made an attempt to sell it to anyone who would make an offer.
