Janus

Janus challenges a member of Camp Half-Blood Austin to a battle of wits

Janus appeared in the Summer of 2017 during Session 7. He was called in by the Triumvirate Emperors, to begin an investigation into the “balance” of the state of McKinney Falls. The God of Balance eventually concluded that Camp Half-Blood Austin held more protection barriers than the Triumvirate, declaring that he would “balance” things out himself.

Little candies of unknown origins began to appear on Quests and Patrols, with Legatus Livia largely keeping them safe from any demigods consuming them. Unfortunately, TJ2 was hoarding a small stash of the candies on his own, slowly indulging himself with them and growing in power. He became angry, brash, and overall more powerful than the average demigod. Unsure of the consequences or the location of the missing TJ2, CHBA waited in anxious fear.

The moment TJ2 valiantly arrived back into the Dining Hall, Janus also arrived to meet with him. Janus explained to TJ2 that by consuming so many of the candies, he had cheated the game and that the consequence for cheating Janus’ game was death. Raising his hand to enact a deadly spell, Janus readied himself to end TJ2’s life.

Janus gives a look of pity to the demigods

However, Ansley jumped in front of the spell, dagger in hand. Collapsing to the ground, she died at the feet of the entire Camp Half-Blood Austin. Since she died with a weapon in hand, Ansley was accepted into the Halls of Valhalla as an einherjar. Ever since, the story of Ansley’s death has echoed from camper to camper, and coincidentally, we have not seen Janus since.
