Dressed in black suits, you may confuse the members of the Foundation with the FBI or the CIA, or even possibly the Olympian Revenue Service.
The Foundation was built to look like an American Security Organization, with each agent donning a pristine black suit, white or blue shirt, black tie, and a pair of dark black sunglasses. Many agents carry a pistol on one side, while some opt for Stygian Iron weapons similar to that of Nico di Angelo’s.
When we first met The Foundation, they blindsided us during our ongoing battle with The League of Machines and Monsters, arriving at the Camp Half-Blood Austin grounds under the leadership of Agent Smith.
The Foundation was an order of “patriots” who could see through the Mist and recognized that a camp full of demigods with powers passed down from their godly parents posed a threat to the status quo. Demigods were a destabilizing influence on world affairs. They demanded we hand over any and all information on our demigods, their godly parents and any powers they may be able to use. Camp Half-Blood Austin refused and that set us on a path of conflict that would last for years. The Foundation was known to kidnap our staff and campers, even holding them hostage in the Visitor’s Center of Mckinney Falls State Park from time to time. While being held hostage, counselors and quest leaders would be forced to undergo interrogations and lie detector tests.
Agent Ringo (pictured above in the blue shirt) is a Son of Hades who evaded death numerous times, reappearing whenever you least expected him. Camp Half-Blood Austin had to deal with him returning so often that campers began assuming he would appear every week. Rest assured, we learned in the Summer of 2020 in a message from Lord Hades that Agent Ringo is permanently trapped in the Underworld for good. Agent Smith, the Head of the Foundation (and son of Pluto) later went on to join and lead the ORS.
