Commodus

Commodus in his formal wear holds the Championship Belt

Commodus is one of the Roman Emperors that makes up ⅓ of the Triumvirate. He has been known to show up to the theme song “Glorious Domination” by Bobby Rhode and is typically met with groans from Camp Half-Blood Austin campers and staff alike.

He always can be found covered in golden glitter, so much so, you might find a trail of it from where he’s been. Hailing himself as the “New Hercules,” Commodus decks his muscles out with various purple and gold attire or a jumpsuit similar to that of a racecar driver, covered in Commodus-themed patches. A golden laurel leaf crown always adorns his head and a golden yellow Apollo cabin bandana is always tied around his right knee, regardless of his outfit.

Commodus wears that specific bandana because of his issues with the God Apollo, who was known to be a past lover. However, Apollo ended up drowning Commodus in a bathtub, leaving Commodus with a massive grudge against the Apollo Cabin.

While one may spot Commodus alone, it is not out of the ordinary to see him by Nero’s side. The two typically arrive at the grounds of Camp Half-Blood Austin to make deals with Topher, usually to bet various magical artifacts on fights against Commodus. One item that Commodus typically fights for is the championship wrestling belt that is owned by our Archery Instructor, Master Thomas.

However, Commodus’ eccentric personality has made him a favorite sight to behold over the years, with some campers even going as far as taking him to Demigod Prom. With his death (and partial short resurrection) in the Summer of 2020, his hijinks have come to an unfortunate end.
