Emperor Nero

Nero reaches out to try to trick a group of demigods on Quest

Nero is one of the three Roman Emperors running the Triumvirate. He can be spotted in his purple suit, gold chain, and tall white platform disco boots. An interesting piece of Nero’s outfit is his sash made out of Camp Half-Blood bandanas, a long scarf that trails along the ground. Each cabin is represented in this sash, including both Greek and Roman variations. No one knows how he came into the possession of these bandanas, and no one wants to find out.

Nero has been the harbinger of monsters and mayhem the past few years, making deals and bringing in more problems that we have to solve. Nero seems to have taken charge of the branch of the Triumvirate that resides in Austin, Texas, and typically looks at his co-emperor Commodus as more of a buff lackey. It is not unusual to find Nero ordering Commodus around to do his bidding, or offering up the glittering fighter as a champion in battle.

Nero arrived with Commodus in the Summer of 2016, in order to try and take over the small portion of the Grove of Dodona that had appeared in McKinney Falls State Park. While they were here, Commodus also tried to retrieve his lost War Ostriches. While the duo continued to arrive in the Summers of 2017, 2018, and 2019, Nero finally took the reins of villainy into his own hands in the Summer of 2020. He created an online system known as the NeroNet, that allowed monsters to make it into the real world. The NeroNet led to Commodus’ unfortunate death and short revival, and since Commodus’ passing, we have not heard from Nero.
