Plague Spirits or Nosoi are the manifestations of the various diseases that plague the World. They usually travel in a sort of glimmering smoke, that can make you ill if inhaled, but they can take the form of disgusting figures, their markings similar to that of the disease they represent. Many are covered in severe scars or rashes and, when turning corporeal, wear loose-fitting clothing that sways when they shamble towards you.
The Plague Spirits are technically under Apollo’s dominion as god of plagues. Without his influence, their uncontrolled appearance in the mortal realm was a big problem. Similar to mummies, any skin-to-skin contact with a Plague Spirit is dangerous and to be avoided at all costs. Plagues and diseases can be contracted the same way as Mummyrot can spread.
